Flower Birds – Long Sleeve Dress for Blythe by pei78.

I am cursed.

I see no other explanation for every time I am quite sure I am through with this blog, I have made up my mind finally, other matters await me, matters of greater importance, grander than dolls clothes – I am a grown up woman you see – I am a grown up woman and I have designed the most amazing and exciting goals for myself so do I really want to spend some more time writing about dolls, writing about Blythe clothes, surely no there are better ways for me to spend my life. So just as I determine I shall no longer write here but rather focus on the other fascinating things I have set my mind on, there it will get me, there I’ll see it, the perfect little Blythe dress. I’ll see it and it stops me and everything I am doing. Now I must share it. Now I must write. I must post it on the blog. Look. Look how marvelous the shape, the fabrics, the colors are… Look…

I am cursed I am telling you.

ooak blue dress for blythe by academybeldam
Bright Blue Ready for Spring Dress for Blythe OOAK by academybeldam.

Although they are not my all time favorite shape of dresses, academybeldam’s creations for Blythe dolls are very pretty. In fact they are kind of exemplar of the typical Blythe dress. She constantly manages to find some new fabrics, usually on the “kawaï” side, and you can see by browsing through the sold section of her shop that she has a wide variety of those.

Today she listed this wonderful ooak blue dress and I absolutely love it. And as I like to quote what sellers say of their items, here’s what she writes :

This dress is made of imported Japanese fabric. It has a fabulous Spring-y blue theme. What a lovely vintage feel! I’ve added blue mini-pom pom, a blue polka dot sash with pearlized buckle and a teensy little aqua button. Spring has sprung!

I have also included a photo of the full dress with the blue pom pom.

Skittles Cardigan by Sugaroni.

Ana Reinert’s berets for Blythe are very nice but her cardigans are even more fantastic. I think it has to do with her choice of colors and this one above is just amazing in that respect. Simply stunning !

Check out her Flickr gallery of “Handknits for Blythe” and that photo here for instance.

You can also find her on her blog and her Tumblr.

knitted hat for blythe doll by ludmilac
Hat for Blythe Doll by ludmilac.

You know how Blythe dolls will always look cute with about any hat ? Well, they will look even cuter with a beautiful bonnet. Here’s one no woman could get away with, yet it feels just perfect for that pretty girl.

And I so love the photo of her Blythe lying on the (plastic) grass alongside her pink teddy bear that I have also included it.

knitted doll sweater in reds by sookie
Knitted Doll Sweater by Sookie Shop.

This handknitted mini sweater for dolls is totally gorgeous in those shades of reds. I realize how much I love it when several colours are mixed and knitted together, and here besides the dominant red you can spot some pink, some orange and a bit of brown or is it purple ?

Anyway, the result is stunning and although Sookie has another one in her shop in blues and browns, to me this one is by far the most beautiful.

It will fit Blythe dolls, Dals and Pullips.

lace cocktail dress for blythe doll by gorgeous blythe
Ivory Lace Cocktail Blythe Dress by Gorgeous Blythe.

Seems like a long time ago now when all we could find to dress our dolls were Empire dresses or, if we kept looking, some more Empire dresses… There were some alternatives mind you and I have written about those, but still it got to a point where it was really hard to even appreciate the beautiful ones.

Now the Blythe community being so alive and creative, each day brings more variety into our girls’ wardrobes, and even though there may be a major trend, a trend where Blythe dolls are generally “cute” and “girly”, still we learn they can have wildly different styles.

As for instance with Tati’s dresses @ Gorgeous Blythe. Those are surely for the “ladies” in our dolls, they’re more evening – or cocktail – dresses than your everyday or casual ones, and my guess is we won’t see many mushrooms around here…

To be honest they’re not exactly the type of clothes my dolls like to wear, but this layered ivory cocktail dress is quite nice although since I’m not much into lace I really prefer the blue or Royal Green one she made – plus the color is beautiful and much more interesting – but the photo of this one fit better here.

(I can be picky that way.)

Blythe T-Shirt – Superman by about a girl… clothing for blythe.

There are a lot of great tee-shirts available for our Blythe dolls here and there – I am definitely planning on writing an article with a nice selection of those – and “about a girl…” has made them her specialty. My favorite one for the moment is this Superman, but I also love the Astro Boy (see photo after the jump).

Yellow Bird by La Petite Pomme Frite.

Giselle @ La Petite Pomme Frite has recently reopened her shop and the more I see her creations, the more I love what she does. She always has some very original items and this lovely pinafore is no exception. Plus her prices are so friendly, it is hard to resist.

Extract from La Petite Pomme Frite’s shop annoucement @ Etsy :

My focus right now is to bring in some fresh, original, well made clothing on the cheap, cause i know we are all feeling the pinch! Free shipping offered on most items too!

Handknit Bobble Hat for Blythe by Petit Tricotage.

Petit Tricotage makes amazing sculptural hats. They would no doubt belong to the same category as those of Megan Talarmo (megipupu), so definitely not your ordinary Blythe doll hats.

Besides the funny and so interesting shape, I really love the colors of that one which she describes as having :

shades of yellow, light red, dark red, and slate blue twining through it. The almost solid, mustard yellow provides a warm contrast.

And about the shape she says :

The hat gets its signature look from the bobbles at the ends of its two ties and the lone, perky bobble standing straight up on top of the wearer’s head.

Blythe Babydoll Dress by Tachán – Tachán.

There are at this moment three adorable dresses for Blythe in Tachán – Tachán’s shop and I must say I have a very hard time deciding which one I like the most – not that I should actually have to reach a conclusion anyway – but I do like the color combo on this one.

I’ll give you the links for the other two so you can see for yourselves but if you like the color green, be sure to check on that very interesting Blythe Tartan Dress.

The other one is quite similar to that blue and yellow above but in green and pink.

They’re all a mix of cotton and felt.

Listras e Estrellas by Marcia Martinho.

When it comes to Blythe clothes, Flickr is probably the best resource there is and I discovered this beautiful turquoise set by Marcia Martinho in the fashion dolls * style pool.

This dress and hat are really fresh and cute especially in that wonderful turquoise color !

Rainbow Dress for Blythe by SugarDoll.

Spring is (almost) here and I spotted some very nice candy colored items for Blythe @ Etsy, so I’ll start a series here with this marvellous Rainbow Dress by SugarDoll.

I also very much like the white dress she has in her shop :

All in White.

It’s actually a very short dress, she’s listing it as a long shirt.

She can make those dresses in other colors. And as is more and more common among Blythe lovers, she also makes knitted items (dresses, hats…) for Lati Yellow dolls (see picture after the jump) or for Pocket Fairy dolls.

Dark Red Hat by MyPoppies.

I’ve been wanting to write something about MissBlythe Store ever since I started this blog, and reading in the newsletter today that the MyPoppies hats were on sale, I thought this would be the perfect time to say what wonderful work Patricia Carvalho is doing with this website.

Patricia is the administrator of Blythe-Europe, the European forum dedicated to Blythe dolls, she lives in Portugal and opened MissBlythe Store about a year ago, around May 2008.

No doubt I’ll write more about the shop later but for now, let’s just say that the clothing section, besides Sugar*Mag, Takara Tomy and La Boutique de Lupi, has some beautiful knitted hats by MyPoppies.

I love love love this dark red one, it is definitely my favorite one but on the whole they’re all very beautiful.

And did I mention but they’re on sale and really affordable too…

Cherry Dress by theFuture.

There are some cute adorable dresses for our Blythe dolls available at theFuture shop on Etsy at the moment. I really love this one but I have a thing for red so it is no great surprise.

The Bunnies mini dress as well as the Lovely Mice dress both have some really interesting vintage fabric. Actually, I love the Mice dress very very much !

I also like this Pink Dress with lace a lot. It is very simple and yet the lace gives it a very delicate and sophisticated feel.

Mauve Multi Glam Glitter Cardi and Scarf Set by gabymadethis.
